  GL2 and FCP5 incompatible?

  My system configuration is: G4 1.25ghz 512mb ram 120gb storage

  Before anyone asks, yes I have trashed the Quicktime Receipts and reinstalled Qtime.

  I have a new Canon GL2 and can’t get it to communicate correctly with FCP. I can get the program open, get the NTSC Basic setting activated, but then when I go to log and capture the program just quits… my computer is seeing the camera just fine via firewire – i checked using system profiler. I’ve tried throwing out the FCP preferences even… help!?!!

  Before you jump to any weird conclusions, try searching the various FCP forums for your camera. We’ve been dealing with lots of weird Canon issues for several years but, no, the the GL2, all by itself, presents to compatibility issues with FCP5.

  Canon issues are almost always directly traced to oddball user configurations and bad cables. No way to know from here where I sit.
