mov to wmv
Posted by Andy Mccarthy on August 23, 2005 at 12:38 amI would like to have my projects viewed in Windows Media Player but have found no option for wmv in FCP or Quicktime. Is there a way of converting mov files to wmv?

August 23, 2005 at 12:54 amYeah, there is a way, but not with FCP.. you’ll need either filp4Mac, Cleaner, or Sorenson’s Squeeze for the job. There are other windows media player compatible formats though, a large sized MPEG-1 file works OK… just not too small or it looks pretty bad.

August 23, 2005 at 2:23 amYou can’t do it withing QT Pro you need to use third party software…like Media Cleaner or try this software – I have it and it works very well…..https://www.flip4mac.com/news.htm
Good luck! -

August 23, 2005 at 4:37 amPopwire Compression Master is also an option. It is a full encoding suite app like Compressor or Squeeze. The Flip4Mac plugin can be integrated with Compressor 2 or Squeeze 4.1, and works pretty well. But, the only version of F4M I would consider purchasing is the 2-pass version ($179). F4M sells a single-pass version for $99, but Popwire also makes a single-pass Windows Media QT plugin encoder for $29 that offers nearly identical features at a much more attractive price.
