  Hello,
  I am unable to do extend edit using the mouse. It becomes very hard when I try to extend the cuts with mouse.

  Turn off “Duplicate Frames” in the sequence preset. Make sure you do it for all your sequences. Not just the open ones but allsequences in your project.
