I have tried everything but can’t seem to create this simple effect. I want to use a simple circular iris closing down on the final scene of my film. Like the old movies. I start the film from black this way, but can’t seem to do the reverse. I want the image — a still — to be slowly swallowed up by a closing circle that grows smaller and smaller until the frame is black. When I try the Iris or other similar effects, I get a large black dot — the reverse of what I need.

Probably simple, but I can’t find a way to do it inside the effect adjustments I’ve tried.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks
    Todd

go into the iris controls and click the little button with the back pointing arrow which is just to the right of the “End” slider.

    cheers
