I just upgraded to a Powermac Dual 2.7GHz and had installed FCP4 on it. I just purchased FCP5 and was wondering about the best way to upgrade. I’ve done a Cow search and came up with FCP3–>FCP4, but nothing on 4–>5. I’ve also been to Ken Stone’s site, but again nothing on upgrading to 5. Since I’ve had this system up and running for a couple of months, I’d prefer not to have to do clean intalls of everything as recommended by Walter Biscardi. Will the 3–>4 upgrade path suffice?

    Thanks in advance.

What version exactly of FCP are you running? What version of QT? And what version of the Mac OS?

Tom,what are you doing up this early on a Sunday morning – you’re still in Denver? I thought only people with little kids got up this early 😉

As I hit the post button, I thought “I should have put my configuration in there”.

    Here is what I have:

Dual 2.7GHz desktop with 2.5GB RAM (for now), Tiger 10.4.2, QT 7.01 and FCP 4.5

I don’t have any projects on this computer (they’re back on the Quicksilver) so I don’t have any worries about backing up projects, favorites, etc.

Oops, I was thinking of Jerry Hoffman (living in Denver). But still, you are up early!
