Just looking for who is using what with Raid cards. I am currently using an Atto UL3D card. I am buying a new box (maybe Huge). I was thinking of upgrading to a UL4D. Any thoughts?

As the info sez below, I’m on Huge. Very happy. Certainly pricier than SATA, but cheaper than Fibre or Apple’s RAID. I went Huge for their superb support, and SCSI for RAID 3. Love the security of having data parity. I get about 190MB/s in RAID 3 at about 50% capacity, as well as using it in the slower PCI slot (for compatibility with the DLT on the other channel of the UL4D).

Personally I love Medea. Ran the RTRX for a couple of years and recently upgraded to the FCR2X Fibre Channel. Had plenty of horsepower for uncompressed HD with the SCSI, just liked the flexbility of Fibre with an upcoming SAN solution.

FYI, I have an ATTO UL4D that’s been sitting in a cabinet for about 6 months or so and I’ll be happy to sell it to you cheap. Drop me an email or give me a call.
