  Disappearing Firewire Data

  Hi, this didn’t happen to me, but to a client preparing a project file for me.

  He was making changes to his file when he was experiencing weird playback problems (stuttering, no motion, no audio, etc…). He restarted, and decided to run Diskwarrior. After Diskwarrior was done, he discovered his FireWire hard drive had ~40 GB less data on it. Any ideas what’s going on. How would this be recovered? Should the drive be taken to a data recovery expert?
