  Once fine media becomes corrupt until re-boot

  Hello. Hopefully someone has had this problem and can help me solve it. I am currently running Tiger and FCP5 on a dual G5, and using an Aurora capture card. I am saving my media to a Apple Raid drive. Here is my problem:

  I capture footage (Beta Sp, Digi Beta, Mini DV) fine. It plays back fine. I will have the footage in the timeline and once I start adding filters, titles, or any other basic effects, the media becomes corrupt (flashing weird and dropping massive frames). ALSO any media from ANY project starts doing the same thing….I re-boot the computer and ALL PLAYS FINE again. Does anyone know whats going on? I unfortunetly had to move a client to another suite because of this reoccuring issue. Thank you in advance.

  There’s been a new driver posted on Software Update for the X Serve Raid recently… have you run this?

  Further to Jerry’s suggestion, have you checked the Aurora web site to see if you have the current driver for your card? Even if you do, you should make sure that your version of FCP, QT, OS, etc are the same versions that they’ve certified. You may have to back some piece of software up to a previous version of to get back to that tested, verified, certified level.
