I am running FCP 5.0.2 on a Blackmagic Decklink HD Pro 4:2:2 dumping into a Sony DVW500p wih pre roll set at 5 seconds and playback offset at +00:00:04. I am getting an inconsistent error that occurs during the pre-roll process eg my in point is at 10:00:00:00, the tape cues back to 09:59:55:00 and starts rolling for the servo to stablize, but before it hits 10:00:00:00, the deck already begins recording to tape, normally upon the commencement of pre roll at 09:59:55:00. Relaying the black, re cueing the tape and setting the dump again is painless, but the HDV conform prior to dumping is a waste of time. Can anyone shed some light on why this is happening?

Did you post this in the Decklink forum? I’m pretty sure your deck control is going through that card (just like with my Kona 2) so it may be something in the RS-422 from there.

I’ve tested mastering to an HDCAM from a DVCPro HD timeline here and had no issues like that.
