Compression Settings Don’t Match Output Settings
After several days of reading manuals and searching on line I am unable to find the solution to this problem. Hopefully it’s a simple fix that I’m overlooking.
I’m using FCPv4.5 on a dual 2.5 G5 with a DeckLink SP card. I’ve edited a :30 sec. sequence which I am attempting to master to a Sony Beta SP machine, a UVW 1800. I’m getting the following warning message: “You may have attempted to output a clip with compression settings that do not match the current output settings. Try nesting the clip in a sequence with the correct settings.”
The sequence which I’m attempting to master consists of an animation created with After Effects 6.5 and rendered as a Quicktime movie with the video output formatted as Blackmagic 8 bit. I am intercutting this AE animation in Final Cut Pro with film captured at a Blackmagic NTSC 8 bit setting. The setting for my FCP sequence is Blackmagic NTSC 8 bit.
I notice in the FCP Browser window that the digitized film footage and the sequence Compressor setting are both listed as Uncompressed 8 bit 4:2:2 while the Compressor setting for the AE animation is listed as Blackmagic 8 bit. Is this the source of my non-matching compression settings and, if so, how do I correct the problem? I’ve checked my FCP A/V settings and my sequence preset is listed as Blackmagic NTSC 8 bit. I can’t figure out where I’m tripping myself up and sure could use some advice to get me over this stumbling block. Thanks for any input you might have.
