delete old render files?
It seems that once a rencer file is created it is not removed when the clip is re-rendered. Is that correct?
is there a way to delete unused render files?

Yes ,
You can use the render manager to do this.
When the dialog window pops up you can select the renders you want to delete and delete them.
You can also do it from the root leel of your hard disk by going to the render files folder and deleting them directly from there.

Yes I can delete the render file providing I know which ones are no longer needed. I was hoping FCP had some way of showing me which ones were not being used.

I think you are looking for an AVID style, media manager, select referenced clips, inverse selection delet selected clips solution.
What you could do is this.
Use media manager to move the render files to a new folder and then delete the old folder. This would be a good feature request for the FCP team.
Towards the end of a project I tend to delete all of therender files and re render only the final sequences if I find that space is becoming an issue.

yes that is what I was hoping for. I’m also using the delete all and re-render workaround.
