A client brought in two beta tapes and wanted us to capture it uncompressed for them, and then copy the files over to a firewire drive so they could take it to thier system and copy them onto whatever drive they use to edit. Well, I captured in all the footage as 4 15min is clips, and every time i try to copy any of them, they get a couple gigs into it, and then i ge a message saying that it can’t be completed b/c clip whatever “could not be read or written” (error code -36). I’ve tried just about every way i could think of, copying this way and that in the finder, saving as, in quicktime, and all result in an error. I’ve treid repairing permissions and everything. Does anyone have any suggestions? i’ve got 80 gigs worth of stuff to copy, I can’t for whateve reason.

Try using the media manager for the copies…

Have you “Got Info” on the clips -cmd I – and see if the clip is locked?
Or if permisssion is set to read & write
    FWIW
