Adding new plugins
Posted by Scott Hathaway on October 10, 2006 at 7:27 amHey all,
This is a true newbie question: how do I get my new plugins into after effects so I can use them? One that I’m trying to get in is the aeflame from this place:
https://www.andrewdavidson.com/aeflame/
So, I got it. Now how do I use it?

October 10, 2006 at 8:02 amIf you run the install (.exe) extension from the plugin software package, it might automatically detect your ae folder and install it in for you. If it doesn’t then you need to find the plugin shortcut of the plugin after it’s extracted or outputed. It should look blue with an electrical plug. Copy it and if you’re running on windows go to
my computer ->
Local Disk C ->
Program Files ->
Adobe ->
After Effects ->
Plugins (Folder)
Then just paste it in there. Next time you start up, it should ask you if you wish to serialize it. Do so and the plugin will be installed and serialized to that specific computer. If you wish to copy that plugin and try to install it into another computer, it will not allow you to do that because you serialized it for that specific computer. So always make a copy of it just in case something happens to the original.
