3D in aftereffects
I have a line that curves in 3D space in 3D studio viz, what is the best wayy to either import it into after effects or recreate it in After effects, can lines be manipulated in 3D space?

No, not really. You can use 3D Stroke or Particular to “draw” lines with workarounds, but that’s pretty much it. Depending on the look of the line even they may be unsuitable, since they don’t have shading. Since you seem to have your scene set up anyways, the best way probably would be to render out the stuff from MAX and then simply import it into AE. Dunno what you wil lbe doing, but it’s probably a good idea to include the depth channel. for that, use RPF files.
