help with dropped frames
G’day,
I am experiencing an error “one or more frames were dropped during playback”. The canvas just shows half a window of scrambled display and it doesn’t advance. The audio outputs without an issue.
Final Cut Express 3.0 was working fine last night and this issue appeared as soon as I started the computer today. The only change was putting some new clips on the timeline, but nothing on the timeline plays now. I doesn’t work at any part of the timeline.
I have tried the following actions to try to fix the problem.
1. Trashed the preferences
2. Turned off “unlimited RT”
3. Closed all sequences other then the main one
4. Turned off auto-renderThere error message also suggests lowering the compression data rate, but I don’t know how to do this.
I’m running Final Cut Express 3.0 on a dual 2.5 CPU desktop with internal 250g drives and Tiger.
A post on the Apple FCE forum recommends exporting all the clips as a QuickTime movie with DV/DVCPRO video compression 48K 16 bit uncompressed audio.
Has anyone experienced such a problem? Are there any solutions? I can’t proceed with this project until it’s fixed, unfortunately. It’s very frustrating.
Thanks for your help.
Regards,
Doug
