  Final Cut Studio – INSTALL ORDER?

  Just about to take delivery of a new fresh-outta-box G5 Dual 2.7 with Tiger and FC Studio

  Can anyone tell me the best (correct?) installation order for all the programs to work correctly? I have read of various issues problems with compressor after different install orders(FCP and DVD Studio corrupting each other) and problems with Soundtrack Pro messing things up if installed last etc etc!

  Anyone have a definitive, tested and working Install Plan?

  Just install the Final Cut Pro Studio Disk and it will ask you to load the discs in an order. I’ve done this on three different machines and it all works fine.

  Great, it must have been previous OS’s that caused problems then, as it appears they allowed installation out of s atrict order.

  It is kind of a weird order, but just let the app walk you though it. Of course, know that we’re here to help if anything goes wrong. Nah, nothing could go wrong, could it…………..

  well, i just put the disks in and did what i was told.
  i’m talking FCP Studio here.

  compressor wouldnt work.

  i had to uninstall everything,
  then i installed everything EXCEPT DVDSP, and Compressor.
  then instaled DVDSP
  then Compressor.

  NOW it works.

  if i have to install from scratch again,
  i’ll be doing it in this order.

  Guess i’ll just follow the order and keep my fingers crossed!

  It’ll be a clean Tiger OS so hopefulyl that will be OK. (i will get all OS updates before starting FCS install)

  Hope adding in QT7 won;t muck it up!! OH so many worries 🙂
