  720p to SD anamorphic

  We are trying to downconvert some widescreen 720p footage to anamorphic 4×3 SDI. Does anybody know what numbers should be entered for the scale and aspect ratio? Or does anyone know any other way to achieve this?

  The Kona 2 does this in realtime. You have three options on the SD downconvert. Letterbox, Anamorphic and Pan and Scan.

  For this set-up we are using Decklink to edit to tape.

  Decklink does this in software, as opposed to Kona 2’s hardware. I’m not sure if you can select which type of crop you would like. After effects might be able to do a decent enough job. Also, if you have a 1200A you can do the downconvert from the SD-SDI out of there. In the menus you can choose whether nor not you want anamorphic or otherwise.
