PLEASE HELP
i have done a “tiger”-osx update. since then i’m not able to view thru the dv-firewire output. in the a/v settings i’m not able to set the a/v device to firewire out. it just disappeared. if anyoune knows that problem, please reply…

maybe it has something to do with the “DesktopVideoOutUpdate”?

Have you tried going to the VIEW menu and selecting EXTERNAL>ALL FRAMES?

no that doesnt work. it does not switch to “all frames”. and the very strange thing is that there are only the DIGITAL CINEMA DESKTOP VIDEO presets at VIEW -> VIDEO PLAYBACK. i have no chance to switch to DV OUT or something…

What version of FCP are you using?
So you tried the VIEW>EXTERNAL>ALL FRAMES and it didn’t work? Because ALL FRAMES isn’t an option under VIEW>VIDEO PLAYBACK.
And what footage are you working with? DV?

still doesnt work. i’m not able to set in the AUDIO/VIDEO SETTINGS the A/V DEVICE to DV. only DIGITAL CINEMA DESKTOP PREWIEV. like a driver would be missing.

I have the option on mine but when I select it, I can’t see anything but I can hear the audio only. Chalk it up to yet another bug of FCP 5.0.

I have been having close to the same problem except that I can’t get DV out in any software (Final Cut Studio, Motion, AfterEffects). I am running a dual 2gig G5, 6gig ram, ATI 800xt with 2 boot drives one with 10.3.9/QT 6.5.2 went up to 7.0.1 and then back down, FinalCut 4.5HD and the old studio software and AfterEffects. The other system is 10.4.1/QT 7.0.1, Final Cut 5 and the new studio software. Both versions of OSX are doing the same thing, no video or audio out to DV. It is wierd because as any of the programs are launching I can see the dv out grab for a second but then it drops again when the software finishes launching. Refresh A/V Devices will sometimes get me output for a second but if I move the mouse it drops again. I usually only get one chance to refresh then it stops having any effect. Any insights would be appreciated.
