Eureka Filters in FCP5
Posted by Chris Babbitt on June 14, 2005 at 5:46 pmHas anyone tried to use Eureka filters in FCP5? It doesn’t seem to work for me. They worked fine in version 4.

I’m in the process of changing over from FCP 4.5 on a G4 to FCP5 on a G5. I’ve already transferred my filters to the naw machine but haven’t actually fired up FCP to try them. I have most (all?) of the Eureka filters as well so I’d be interested to fins out as well.
I’ll give them a try tonight when I get home.

June 14, 2005 at 7:54 pmThey don’t work. On the forum on their website they say they are having problems with the Parser and they are working on it.
On my machine the film stuff doesn’t work and the glows don’t either -

Mine do seem to work. I don’t have all of them installed on the new machine, but those that are in place do work. Some I tried include the chroma glow, abstract, night vision and silk stocking. For transitions I tried the smash zoom and vapor across. The only one I couldn’t get to work was the silver print filter. when I applied that to a clip I got the red FX error window.
When I rendered the filters out, they seemed OK as well.
Very strange…lucky?

Not much luck here with the filters. Looks like none of my third party filters are happy with version 5. Sounds like Operator Error on my part… but I can see them all in “boot drive/library/application support/final cut pro system support/plugins”. This is where they go, correct???????
