Ive been editing a few wedding videos and I have an issue when encoding to mpeg2 using compressor. The audio will lose sync with the video eg. 30 mins speeches the audio will be out be about 1 sec.
Ive also tried outputing through the quicktime encoder with limited sucess.
The sync appears fine when playing off the timeline, and the audio mixdown has been rendered.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a fix?

I’ve had many time this problem.
Sometime it’s in sync sometime not.

The workaround I’ve found it to export the m2v with compressor and next export the timeline in aiff. not using export to quicktime, but export to aiff, and link the two file in dvd studio pro.

    P.S working with PAL here.

    Hope this help

I avoid using compressor and go over quicktime converter.

    no problems

[Rainer Wirth] “I avoid using compressor and go over quicktime converter.”

I use Compressor all the time, & it works perfectly for me. Here’s a couple of suggestions:
    1) Mixdown your audio in the timeline before outputting. It’s in the SEQUENCE>RENDER ONLY menu.
    2) Export your audio directly from FCP as a separate file, then use that export to encode with aPack.

This is a well known bug as far as I know. Stick with Quicktime and get yourself a decent encoding app like ProCoder (PC) or similar for mpeg-2 encoding.
