a simplified basic update on the HD dvd format battle.
off-topic but certainly relevant. everything has moved very quickly in the direction of high definition over here in Japan, so the winner of this format competetion is in for quite the lucrative future. and really, all video professsionals are going to be a part of it one way or another.
anyway, thought it may be interesting render-time reading or discussion.
