Confused about Photoshop imports.
Hello,
I have searched the posts and read many thoughts on importing graphics from Photoshop CS. The projects I am currently working on are containing footage imported using an IOLA via component Beta-8-bit easy set-up. I than use my Kona-2 card to work in and export out component back to the Beta. Could someone tell me which Photoshop set-up I should be using. I believe I have it figured but would like to confirm.
This is for bringing in an already created logo.
1. Open a new PS doc.
2. Make the image size to the preset NTSC D1 Square Pix, 720×540 (with guides)
3. Paste the existing graphic into this document.
4. Change the size to 720×480.
5. Save.
6. Import into FCP
7. Use as needed.What does everyone think? Thanks for your thoughts.

If you are using the AJA IO LA via component Beta-8-bit easy set-up, ITU-601 NTSC 4:3, that would be 720 x 486 so according to Apple’s knowledge base– https://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=36836 –you want to start with 720 x 547 in Photoshop.
If your footage was DV 720 x 480–which your ARE NOT using–you would start with 720 x 540 in your square pixel paint application like Photoshop.

I’m also figuring out Photoshop imports. What settings are best when you are outputting in DV PAL. I read the links to previous post about the Apple settings & NTSC, but all of the info was for designed for NTSC. Any suggestions for PAL both $;# & 16:9?
