i shot a concert a couple weekends ago, and i am in need of some color correction advice. the band had a tendency to use red lighting. which looked cool, but in certain places in the video the red is bleeding on skintones. this is really only a problem on closeup shots of the lead singer. does anyone have a quick color correction fix in FCP HD, or at least a good place to start from? (i have experience with the filters and controls. so you don’t need to start at the beginning). thanks.

    Hi Karenin

unfortunately, if the ‘bleeding’ is recorded that way, theres not too much in the way of a quick fix.
a good ‘ending’ point might be to apply the broadcast safe filter … that at least will clamp your luminance and chominance levels to prevent any further chroma tearing.

having said that, i’m sure that some of this boards’ luminaries will be able to offer some more specifc help

    best of luck
    Andy
