Digitize batch clips and the QT movies are fine. Load clip in Viewer or Canvas and FCP GUI will not show the video associated with the clip.

Also, if I Batch Capture thru the contextual menu, I get as far as the 1st dialogue box and then hit OK and my request is ignored.

If I Batch Capture a VIDEO/AUDIO clip thru the Log & Capture dialogue, the process completes and the icon in my Browser turns into a SUBCLIP icon and when loaded into the VIEWER I hear audio only. No video plays.

I deleted preferences (even noticed newer ones in v5) Is there a new proceedure??

    TRASHED THE FOLLOWING FILES:
    Obj Cache / 5.0 Prefs / Prof Cache / FCP.plist

    Tnx in advance

Sounds like the OS is wack! Have you repaired permissions lately?

    Hope this helps-

Just repaired permissions – no change.
Did discover under pulldown MODIFY the “Remove Subclip Limits” command.
This solved the NO VIDEO issue.

Drop the clip into a sequence and you can plainly see the didged media on the 1st half of
the clip black and BLACK for the second half of its full duration.

(Since it’s treating this MASTER clip as a SUBCLIP right from the beginning of the BATCH process, it makes “sense”
what’s going on but definatly not the desired result.

Hoping any v5 users can verify this as a bug! Thanks!!

Can you take me back to your logging process? Are you recapturing or capturing for the first time and did you ever make those clips subclips. ALso more info on you system setup, QT, OS etc. Thanks. Hope I can help, I’ve been capturing a lot in 5.0.

    These are first time captures.
Logged in FCP v5 (studio package) off to the Browser for Batch Digiging.
Subclips do exist within this particular FCP Project from clips that I didgitized using CAPTURE NOW.

You didn’t happen to slip the audio did you? ON your subclips if you view the Timecode is the Vtrack the same as A1 and A2? ALso, what does it say your duration is on these clips?

    No split audio is occuring.
    Time Code is continous.

The Batched clips durations (once Captured and Subclip nonsense removed via the pulldown)
are exactly TWICE the duration of the original logged clip!!

In other words, 1st half of clip is perfect. Second half all black & silent.
No time code break at the Black point.

    No clue @ this point.
