  Upgrading FCP projects to 5

  It was said for HD not to upgrade your projects from 4.1, rather start from scratch. Does this still hold true for 5?

  I’m seeing no problems updating FCP 4.x projects to 5 projects. But hedge your bet… make copies to update keep originals “just in case”…

  I have opened a dozen FCP4+ projects into FCP5, all perfect performers.
  I did, however, make a duplicate copy of the project BEFORE doing so.

  I also copied every pre-FCP5/DVDSP4/Motion2/LT+ project file I could locate and moved them to a DVD.
