Reconnecting Media corrupts Timeline
Hi, hopefully someone here might be able to help me with this FCP problem.
I originally digitised a project into 60 or so short clips. It was then edited, under FCP 4.5. Unfortunately I had to erase my capture files and capture again onto a different drive. This time I captured just 3 large files, 1 for each tape.
I shot the film using just 3 tapes, and set the tape number as the first hour in the timecode.
My problem is that when opening my project now and trying to reconnect these clips, my timeline is becoming corrupted. In my browser I have clips such as “Scene 1 close up” which have the correct in and out timecodes, after being reconnected. Double clicking these files launching them in the viewer still indicates no problem, the in and out parts are correct (Media Start and End change though).
In my timeline though it just doesn’t seem to be reading the timecode correctly or something… I have bars and tone where close ups should be… and have no idea what is wrong.
I can’t redigitise – I assumed it would be possible to reconnect clips based on timecode alone. Help!
