    Hey everyone,

I was wondering what kind of experiences people were having with this upgrade. Apple’s information about what exactly they’ve “changed” isn’t very detailed. Any feedback would be much appreciated! We are running fcp 4.1.1 and OS 10.3.8. I’m hoping to get a little more info before upgrading all the workstations. In the past these updates have been fairly transparent, but any real world experience would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I’ve been running it in Tiger and FCP 5, but wonder about running it in 4.1.1 on Panther..? dunno, and if you have a working system… why break it?

That said, why aren’t you runnning FCP HD?

Yeah I agree, If it ain’t broke, why fix it?

Apple’s documentation did mention some “user interface reliability” improvements, so I was hoping the update may fix some quirks we are noticing with snapping functionality and shift-constrain dragging, etc (does this fall under the “user interface” umbrella?).

We aren’t running HD mainly because the “desktop preview” isn’t compatible with the Aurora mjpeg codec we are using. We do use it on our High Def theatre with a Kona2 card, using the 10bit UC codec.

    cheers,
