    Hi,

I basically need to have a mask that does not move while the layer does. The layer has other masks on it that need to move with it. I read the chapter about the pan behind tool but it is not working.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Use your static mask layer as a track matte for your other layers.

There is only one layer with three masks. One of the masks I want to stay still so as the layer moves the mask that is not moving will wipe off the layer as it passes it.

    Thanks

Then duplicate the layer, remove the other two masks and still use it as a track matte. No reason why it shouldn’t work.

Unless I misunderstand you, can’t you just copy the mask in question, paste it to a new solid layer above (Black?) then delete it from the original layer, now the new mask (on it’s own layer above) will wipe off the moving layer’s masks.
