  FCP 4.5 takes FOREVER to load???

  Just recently, my FCP 4.5 is taking FOREVER to load. I am not sure just exactly why. I have 1Gb RAM, running a 1.8 Dual, 200Gb drive and an 80Gb drive. Program is installed on the 80Gb drive with 20Gb Free Space. I have a GeForce FX 5200 vid card.

  Any ideas? Problem started a little bit ago…cannot figure out why…

  You might try trashing our preferences. Do a search on the procedure.
  I had this problem a while back. FCP didn’t take “forever” to load, but it did take MUCH longer than it should have. It’s been behaving since.

  Tried that and the thing is still taking long time to load. Like close to 5 minutes…it just sits there with the screen up and the ball spinning.

  Did you upgrade to QT7…If so then that could be your problem. There seems to be a lot of bugs out there with that upgrade.
