I have an HD deck here and a down-converter to bring footage in my FCP system using a Kona SD card. The HD tape that I have are 23.98. Our tech guy told us to bring the footage in adding a pulldown and then take the pulldown out! This does not make sense to me…I would think that since there is the option to capture at 23.98, why would I take this extra step. I just tried to capture using the Kona 10bit 23.98 setting, but when I stepped through the footage it had interlaced frames (though the footage was 23.98 in the browser). What am I doing wrong? It is possible for me to capture through a downconverter at 23.98, right? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
