Newbie de-interlacing woes
I am trying to edit some DVDs but need some help on the correct work flow. The source material was filmed on PAL DigiBeta, edited, converted from colour to B&W and then transferred to DVD. I am now trying to shorten the length of the DVD from 60 mins to 20 mins but keep getting some interlacing in a couple of sections of the film when someone walks through the shot.
What I have been doing is; import the VOBs into Final Cut Express, edit the material, apply the deinterlace filter, render and export using Compressor [high quality 60min preset]and then burn a DVD with DVD Studio Pro2. I have also tried Joe’s Field Blender instead of the native FC filter and also used MPEgs ripped using Cinematize.
Is the correct way of going about things or am I missing something fundamental? I’m new to video editing and am slowly getting my head around it all but[obviously]don’t understand where I’m going wrong. I’m going to try BitVice aswell once I’ve downloaded it…
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
