  • Please help with Aviator color, can’t find a process in the COW archives

Posted by Derrick on October 1, 2006 at 7:27 pm

    hi there,

I’ve tried everything in Photoshop to simulate the 3-color Technicolor technique used in the Aviator,

I’ve search the COW and couldn’t find “this is how you do it”. just discussions.

Don’t get me wrong I love to figure things out, but this one’s got me!

Does anyone know the steps to achive this feat?

    Thanks for your time,
    Derrick

Did you Google “three-strip technicolor” and “aviator”?

    Hi there,

Thanks Steve, I’m checking out these links.

I googled it, and came across aviatorfx, and they show how the process works, and I get that, I’m just struggling with the implementation of the color channels.

Thanks for the links, I’m checking ’em now

Hmm … I just tried the plug inside FCP, and saw a dull gray image that looked like one image “exclusion-moded” over the same image. Sort of.

    Hm. Not sure why …

I’ve been trying to recreate the process in After Effects and I can’t seem to achieve the effect either
