  NTSC differs from Canvas

  Here’s an odd one- Im using a wipe that holds steady for the whole shot ( to add text to the frame) start 60% end 60%. The wipe area I see on my canvas is different fro the wipe on the NTSC monitor. Slightly, though significantly, larger. also the wipe seems to jump at the head of the clip. Any thoughts on solving this issue?

  It seems The jumpimg or momentary wipe size change is related to transitions on other layers. As the layer above dissolves out, the wipe on the main layer changes size until the dissolve finishes. Is ther a better way to wipe out half the frame so I can put text in that space un cluttered?

  You can’t do what you want with a transition. Try using the Crop function or some other matte tool to create the shape you want.
