  • FCP – enable preview on log and capture

    Hey All,

Having some strange issue with our Final Cut Pro HD (running on a Dual 1.8GHz G5, 1.5GB Ram, running OS X 10.3.9). When we try to log and capture, FCP recognizes the device and can even control it but no video or audio is coming through. The window just says “Preview Disabled” over the color bars. Usually a restart fixes any little quirks like this but not this time. Not sure if there’s an option to disable preview, don’t ever recall seeing that anywhere. We’ve tried to capture from various decks (Sony DSR-1500A, DSR-20, and GV-D1000) and all the same result (and all with different firewire cables), nothing – can log but not capture. They decks work fine (log AND capture) on our other G5 Dual 2.0 machine so I’m at a stand still now… just thought maybe any of you have gone through this and know how to fix it. Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions/comments.

Got it fixed, just a matter of trashing the FCP preferences.
