I started to capture video on a new project today and I constantly get the above message, no matter where I mark in and out points. I trashed the FCP preferences, repaired permissions, etc., all my usual stuff, and the same thing happens repeatedly. What’s so weird is that I’ve had no trouble capturing video in my office at school using the same camcorder (Panasonic AGDVX100p) and FCPHD 4.5 and OSX3.9 on a Mac G4. Anyone know why I’m having this trouble at home on my 17″ Powermac lap top G4? FCPHD had been working fine on it in OSX3.9; in fact, I just completed a one-hour Tai Chi project immediately prior to upgrading to OSX4. Anyone else had something similar happen? What can I do about this? I have three hours of video that needs to be captured.

I just had this problem and solved it by going under “User Preferences” and selecting the “Warn After Capture” option in the “on timecode break” line. Before I made this change, it had been making new clips after each timecode break.
