  Importing Sony HDV to Final Cuts 4

  I’m sure this is an easy one. What setting do I need in Final Cuts 4 to allow me via firewire to import HD from a Sony HDV 10801? I have set and reset till my fingers fell off and still cannot get an image to capture. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

  I’m pretty sure I read that only FCP 5 can work with HDV (or Final Cut Express HD) other than that lumiere has some sort of workflow option.

  Right – FCP HD doesn’t support HDV yet.

  You can also try HDVxDV.com to import your footage – or wait a few weeks until FCP 5 ships, which does edit HDV native.
