  • Generating Audio from Video Clips

    Hi Everyone,

Okay. This is what happened. I cut a piece for a client, a demo for a singer and piano player. We had two sources of sound, 1) the camera mike, and 2) a sound track recorded separately. Of course, the client felt the separate sound track was better so I synched it up. They were happy with the piece.

Now, for a variety of reasons too long and boring to go into here, they want the same video but with the camera sound. I deleted the camera sound track from my timeline. That was my mistake.

Question: Once you delete the sound track that was captured with video, can you regenerate that sound track from the remaining video clip or do you have to go back and recut everything from scratch?

    Thanks to all.

Sophie depending on what you meant when you said you deleted the original audio this ashould be an easy fix….

    first make a DUPLICATE sequence!!!!!!!

the original audio should still be on your drive, the audio is embedded in the same quicktime that your video is. Simply place the playback head at the head of a clip press “x” to mark the clip then “f” to open the match frame in the viewer. now, you should see both the video and audio tracks…simply link up the audio and unlink the video and hit f11…you should replace the tracked audio with the original from tape……

this all depends on the fact your audio is in the same file as the video…if not…. please provide a little more info..and we will see what we can do for you.. 🙂
