Is there a way to make the sequence settings automatically conform to the video that you are using. In After Effects you can drop a clip into the create composition and it will create a compostion the exact size, frame rate, pixel size, and length. In FCP I only know how to do it manually by going into sequence settings and doing it myself. Sometimes I get video that Im not sure the size or how it was compressed and it takes me a while to get the settings right. Anyone have advice?

If you select the imported clip in your browser and then type cmd+9, you’ll get it’s format, size etc… might be easier than what you are doing now.

But there’s no way to do it other than what you are doing now.
