before i elaborate on the problem, here are my specs:

    Final cut 4.5
    G5 Dual 2 GHz 2.5 sdrram

    Aja kona 2

Sytem settings: Capture to G-Raid w/323 Gig’s available

    Captured material: 720 p 59.94

    Here’s the problem.

I have a project with 5 sequences, I loaded it recently, and one of my sequences wouldn’t open. A message popped up and read. “Codec not found.” i clicked OK and then it said. “Error. not enough memory.”

It was strange to me b/c it was of the same seq presets as my other sequences which are all fine. To circumvent the problem, here is what i did: I changed the seq setting for this one seq to NTSC dvcpro50 and it came back up, though unrendered.

At this point i copy.pasted the material into one of my other sequences and rendered it. It seems now to be fine, but i’m a bit paranoid, as I’m not sure what really happened, and if my edit is now safe. My initial compression setting was DVCPRO HD 720p60 and there had never been a problem. what would suddenly cause my computer to reject this seq. and how i can i prevent this from happening again?

I am not sure now if the seq, i pasted it into is immune to this malfunction. if it happens again, i will freak out. will someone clarify?

    sincerely,
