Searching the data base and I ran across a thread from 2004. This user explains the exact problem I am having presently. The thread was closed by admin or I would try to contact him.

    We are using AEpro 7
    Win XP 2 gig ram

    Archive 2004:
“…Keylight has been consistently giving us render errors, both in RAM previews and in final renders. The errors most often come in the form of the bottom half of the keyed layer disappearing. At times it seems like a memory issue, and purging everything will clear it up for a bit.

I’ve tried turning on the SECRET preference settings and clearing the cache after every frame, but no change.

I’m curious if anyone else has seen these problems, and/or if they have had any success with a solution.”

    Dupsta,

I have used keylight with your same setup a lot, and sorry to say, have never seen this problem. Is it on all frames, or just some ?

    Thanks

See what is strange is this problem has happened to the user from 2004. So I know I am not alone.
The frame that becomes chopped is a random frame. The frame that is chopped, when purged, goes away. It is not any specific frame, it could be frame 8 than 20, than on another render it could be 7 than 10 than 16. Again, like the user from 2004, it effects final renders and previews. I might need to contact adobe for this.

    Hi there,

Sorry to hear you’re having this problem. It’s a known issue which rears its ugly head on certain machines in certain circumstances (unfortunately not circumstances that we’ve been able to replicate here in the office as yet). In the meantime theres a non-multiprocessing version available from our support site on the below link.

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks Jack,
After installing the new keylight patch, the comp gives a warning message informing me that the version of keylight it is looking for is missing. The old keylight was used about 25 time in the comp. Does this mean we need to re-key everything with this new patch?
    Please get back to me.
    Thanks.

FYI, I have been reading this is a bug for 6.5, we are using 7.0 pro. Also we are running @ 23.976

    Thanks again for you time.

Unfortunately, as the version number and controls are slightly different, they cannot be translated by AE, so its a case of reapplication; sorry about the hassle this’ll cause 🙁

Just FYI to Folks, and correct me if I am wrong
Saving out presets and than reapplying them will not work.
In regards to presets, find a trusty pen and paper!
