  Horizontal Lines In video

  I am having trouble with horizontal lines in my Quicktime files, usually I don’t see them in FCP. Every once in a while I do see them though(With Boris Film Effects). Could this have something to do with the pulldown pattern ? What is the pulldown pattern, what is the correct setting. If someone has enough patients to deal with me on this I would appreciate it.
  I have a Sony DCR-VX2100 mini DV Cam, and a Dual 1.8 Tower (not sure if it matters).
