They probably can’t even give it away.

Well, indeed, that’s exactly what they are doing, giving it away for free….. How times change.

Its a good thing I think. No real competition on the Mac except for Avid. Always nice to have another NLE on the Mac platform. Assuming this will stay on the Mac platform. Free is good too. :-0

    “….free timed out beta version….”
Oh joy, they’re giving away a buggy timebomb. Wonder if they’ll include a virus in the reply email… Sure WOULD be nice to see some valid competition on the Mac plat, thou….

That ship sailed many years ago. The day Avid woke up and started to compete with FCP on a software only level was the time for Media 100 to do the same.

Its such a shame… the interface design on some of the software is just superb, but I guess the company was run by ‘financiers’ who thought they could ‘leverage’ the ‘assets’ to provide an ongoing ‘income stream’. Totally failed to read the market.

Reminds of the money I wasted on bloody Radius products (aaarrrrghhh!!)

    Piece of cake.

Just partition a drive. load an os on it and then and try the beta. When you crash, you know you found a bug.

Hey, these guys have been building NLE’s for a very long time, and I’ll wager that this software could be quite keen for something or other…
