We just finished an add that required a substantial amount of corner-pin tracking. To my huge disappointment, After Effects was HORRIBLY bad at this, which ended up with me going it by hand with the CC Power Corner-pin plugin and using Reel Smart Motion Blur too calculate some motion blur to the scen. It worked out real good – everyone was happy, even-though I didn’t get much sleep last night

Well the best in the world is “Monet” for planar tracking like that. But it’s (last I checked) over 10k US. But it’s foolproof and even extracts the sheen/reflections from your source and comps them back over for you.

Yeah, I know about Monet (as well as Mokey etc). They seem like great apps that fit into alot of different workflows. However, Monet is currently priced at 18 000 dollars I reckon – getting that would basically double the value of my editing suite – including computer hardware and storage! 🙂

But yes, I’ve seen it do it’s magic “live” at IBC last year and it does do it well.
