  16×9 goes 4×3 on export

  So not sure what I’m missing here but I’m exporting a 16×9 program and it’s coming out as a 4×3 clip. I’ve tried every possible combination of settings but can’t seem to get it out at 16×9. Anyone know what I’m missing? Running into a time issue on this. Thanks.

  Are you exporting an SD clip? Then this is perfectly normal. Simply open it in Quicktime player, and set it’s dimensions to 1024*576 for PAL or 864*486 for NTSC under the Video track settings (Command-J), then save it again. During export the anamorphic setting does not get written to the Quicktime file. The same happens for example when rendering out movies from AfterEffects.

  Wow. Thanks. That was a pretty ridiculous process. Must have missed this in the manual.
