  • Enabling “HSF Plus” in m100i Systems

    Hello

I searched this forum for info on setting my external drives as “HSF Plus”.

I don’t know if this is to be set within m100i or OSX.

Before updating from an earlier version of m100 v8 the drives registered as HSF Plus.

I looked through all of the print documentation I have with no luck either.

Please help, I sure would appreciate it.

    Thanks,

    Max Federmann

I looked at the drives in the System Profiler.

    OSX recognizes them as ” Journaled – HSF+ ”

What needs to happen in order to allow m100 to see this?

Nothing. Formatting your drives as HFS+ is an operating system thing – it has nothing to do with Media 100. If your OS recognizes the drive as such, so will any software you run.

Media 100 does see this automatically. In some earlier versions of Media 100 (around the time the transition from HFS to HFS+ happened in the OS) you got a HFS+ label to show that your drives allow files larger than 2GB, but since under OSX all drives (okay, not really all, but nearly everything you will want to use for video editing) are formatted HFS+ anyway this label was removed. The functionality is still there.
