  Mini DV Deck hook-up Floh

  Floh, a short time ago you asked someone “Do you have a DV board for Media 100? Do you connect the DV deck to the FireWire port on the P6000 board (not the one on the G3/G4/G5)? What DV deck do you use?

  I have the same issue. I have a Sony DSR-20 and I also have the DV option for media 100. My deck is connected to the DV board coming out of the G4. Should I be getting machine control? Also, this may sound like a stupid question, but does audio travel on the same firewire? Or do i need to connect audio outs to the m1oo junction box? Thanks. Honestly, I’ve never used this option. Thanks.

  Everything goes through the firewire, (video, audio and machine control). Although, the machine control is much more responsive if you connect via the RS-422. Does the DSR-20 have RS-422? Be sure to set the proper inputs and machine control in the settings window.
