July 26, 2005 at 5:27 pmHave you tried taking the Media 100 output feed into the FCP input feed? Use the Media 100 as a source deck?

July 26, 2005 at 9:15 pmTHAT’S an interesting idea. Since the two editing systems operate on two different computers, that might just work.
Thanks, Warren. I’ll try that.

July 28, 2005 at 11:52 pmI bring my Media 100 video out to a Mini DV tape\ and then import it in to FCP. It works perfectly.

July 29, 2005 at 11:36 pmThanks. I figured I’d probably end up doing that in the end. I guess I was just thinking that the quality might be better if I could transfer the material via copying files or, as the previous post suggested, taking signal out of the Media 100 G4 and into the FCP G5. I’m actually trying to do that as I write but I apparently haven’t discovered the right capture settings in FCP or something.
Thanks though — it’s looking more and more like I’ll end up going with your suggestion.

August 16, 2005 at 5:08 pmMedia 100 can capture footage in 640×480 which transfers fine usually to FCP, HOWEVER, when you capture into Media 100 set to 720×486 (True DV) you are going to see that 6 line discrepency when you go to FCP which is 720×480. SO, outputting to DV then re-importing can work, but if you want to not drop quality you can render a movie export uncompressed (Quicktime, etc..) but go into settings and manually crop 6 lines of resolution off the picture so FCP will see it right.
