  Premier pro 19 fail/error

  I did a slow motion sequence in a fast paced video and I had to render it for it to come out buttery smooth. But for some reason ???? after I edited the clips, I started to lower/higher and brightness/ contrast, and my slow motion became very chopy. Almost if the slow motion and rendering i did was denied because i highered and lowered the brightness. Anyone know a common problem/solution for this ? I’m on mac.
