Audio does not import onto timeline with .mp4 video clips
I download various mp4’s from youtube, from my phone, my video camera, or just previous renders of other projects from Premiere of After Effects and there is no sound track added to the timeline. Just the video
The video will play with audio fine if I double click it in the asset pane and preview it and it shows the audio waveform icon on the clip as well in the asset panel
The fix for me has been to right click on the video file in the Project Pane, click Edit in Audition, and then close Audition as it will automatically add the audio track into the Project Pane. From there I can frag the audio clip that was just generated to the timeline, match it with the video clip I previously imported, and then Link them.
This is a hassle and I cannot understand the variable that is causing this to happen occasionally but not all the time with all clips I attempt to drag onto the timeline
Using Premiere Pro 2020 all updated
