  help with masking

  apologies for the elementary question ~

  I’m trying to extract a section from one layer: I have a layer of footage (layer 1), then text (layer 2) then different footage inside the text (layer 3). What I’m seeing is both layers of footage inside the text when I only want layer 3 inside and layer 1 outside the text.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Top layer should be text (visibility off). Layer two should be your text footage and should use text alpha as track matte. TRack 3 should be background footage.
